Nofel am y Tân yn Llŷn yn 1936 ac am losgi pentref Guernica yng Ngwlad y Basg yn 1937. Mae tân yn y cartref henoed yn gorfodi Megan, sydd bellach yn nain, i ddewis un peth o'i llofft wrth i'r adeilad gael ei wagio gan y timau diogelwch. Pam ei bod wedi dewis hen faner denau goch, gwyrdd a gwyn?
A fire in an old people's home forces Megan to choose one thing from her room to take with her as the emergency services evacuate the building. Why does she choose a red, green and white flag, its material old and threadbare? She starts to tell the tale of the flag to her granddaughter, Beca: about a bombing school in Llŷn in North Wales... bombs raining down on the city of Gernika in the Basque Country... refugees fleeing to Wales to escape the slaughter and destruction... and one family's story woven through all of this.
'I think that some of the novel's material is very relevant to us today, such as refugees and foreign wars…'
